Love Dungiven Art Competition

‘Love Dungiven’ art competition launched!

Dungiven Regeneration Club, in partnership with Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Town and Village Management team, has launched a ‘Love Dungiven’ art competition. The competition is open to everybody. There are no age restrictions. The winning artworks will be converted into lamppost banners and put on public display throughout the village.

The rules of the competition are simple. The artist must create and own the artwork they submit. The artist must give their work a title. Drawings, paintings and photography is permitted. The lamppost banners will be vertical and therefore artwork must be vertically orientated (portrait style) with the length / height being approximately twice that of the width. Minimum size of artwork is A4 (portrait format)

How to enter: The competition will close at 4pm on Tuesday 30th June 2020. If the COVID-19 restrictions have eased by that date, then completed artworks, including the name and contact details of the entrant, should be hand-delivered in a sealed envelope marked 'Love Dungiven Art Competition' to the office of the Dungiven Regeneration Club, 136 Main Street, Dungiven BT47 4LG. Alternatively, entries can also be posted to Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, 7 Connell Street, Limavady BT49 0HA marked for the attention of ‘Town and Village Management’ or emailed to

Prizes: The main prize will be the privilege of having your artwork on public display in Dungiven. The printed banner will include the title of the artwork and the name of the artist. Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council will also provide each winning artist with a £50 Causeway Coast and Glens Gift Card, which can be used in a wide range of shops and businesses throughout the Borough. The Gift Card promotes the Council’s Shop Eat Enjoy Local message, which in turn helps to sustain jobs and supports local businesses.

More detailed information will be published in The Derry Post next week Tuesday 5th May.
